Terry has served as a deacon at Village Baptist Church for more than thirty‑six years. He married Sharon (our Music Leader) in 1980 and joined the church soon after. Raised as the son of a deacon, he learned early what faithful service looks like, and after much prayer and counsel with his father, he joyfully accepted the call to serve. Terry was ordained on November 26, 1990.
Terry is passionate about seeing the lost come to Christ and loves the steady rhythm of Sunday and Wednesday Bible study. One of his most meaningful memories at Village is helping build the church facility we worship in today.
For Terry, Village Baptist Church is family in every sense. He loves the warmth, closeness, and family‑oriented spirit that define our congregation. Outside of ministry, he enjoys watching his grandchildren play ball and cheering for all things Razorbacks.
Terry came to faith in Christ on December 6, 1989, at a gospel concert at First Baptist Church. His favorite Scripture is John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing” (ESV).
