Sharon has been part of Village Baptist Church since childhood and has served as our music leader for more than forty years. She stepped into the role in the early 1980s after the long ministry of Ms. Vel Wooley and has faithfully led our congregation in worship ever since.
Sharon has served in nearly every area of church life—teaching, decorating, helping with Bible School, and pitching in wherever needed. She especially loves the behind‑the‑scenes work that keeps ministry moving.
Village Baptist is home in every sense for Sharon. She was raised, baptized, and married here, and now she joins Terry, her husband of 47 years, in watching her grandchildren grow in the same church family. She loves the closeness of our congregation and the relaxed, participatory feel of our services.
Outside of church, Sharon enjoys time with her granddaughters, sports, and helping others as she is able. Her favorite Scripture is Ephesians 3:20–21: “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (ESV).
